Standard Driving Gear & posture

Having a proper riding posture is one of the best ATV riding safety tips you’ll receive for recreational riding. It begins with your riding gear. Whether you’re a beginner or an expert, always wear your safety gear such as the right size helmet, goggles, gloves, boots, riding jacket, or shirt and pants. Your gear can help enhance your visibility, grip, and comfort on your Taotao ATV.

Upper Body

Head and Neck: Keep your head up and eyes in front of you as you ride. Instead of slumped over or tensed, your shoulders should be down and relaxed. Don’t strain your neck; it should be straight and aligned forward.

Arms and Hands: You want a slightly relaxed bend to your elbows as you ride, and a strong grip on the handlebars.

Back: You should have a straight back, not one that is slumped over, awkwardly bent, or strained. Relax your muscles. Back injuries are among the most common injuries that happen with riding, so if you start to feel any discomfort, take a break from your session.

Lower Body

Knees: Keep your knees pressed in against the ATV’s fuel tank, this will help you keep control of your vehicle.

Feet: Keep your feet securely placed on the footrests and pointed straight.

Standing Up: Remain in your seat to maintain a lower center of gravity on your quad. This is essential for maintaining balance and stopping your quad from tossing or flipping, especially when traveling quickly. On the other hand, you can stand atop your four-wheeler if you need to increase your visibility.

Crouching: Crouch on your quad with your rear lifted slightly above the seat when you’re rolling over rough terrain that’s bumpy.

Turning Posture

Put your weight on the outside foot peg and lean into the turn-to-turn. Don't put a foot on the ground! It might tangle with something and hurt someone badly.

Uphill Position

Adventure riding includes tasks like riding your Tao Tao ATV four-wheeler up a hill or a steep ramp for a jump. If the front wheels of your car start to lift, you should move your body weight forward to stabilize them. You don't want to put too much weight forward because you can quickly fall off the quad. Practice this to perfect the skill level

Downhill Posture

Keep the car moving straight when it is downhill! Avoid making abrupt handlebar jerks or turns. Put your front weight on the seat and face the gasoline tank. To keep the car stable, keep your weight back. Your wheels will stay on the ground and the ATV won't flip if you do this.

Posture for Jumps
